Traditional industrial countries are suffering from increased competition from factories in Third World countries. As a counter measure, too many industries are "delocalising" by transferring their production to the various countries that compete against them. By so doing, many jobs are lost in the original country and there is rising unemployment and a lot of suffering with it. The escape road that some companies are taking is that of manufacturing more advanced products, but they seldom find enough qualified manpower in their local labour market.
